The Giro was terrific as usual, 68 entrants, everything from 1958 Zigolo that Dave Rope brought and was ridden by a guy who's Airone had problems on Sunday to the usual supply of Honda Dreams. Forecast was for doom and gloom with rain both days, but we saw no rain, sunny and 60's by Saturday afternoon and overcast but warmer still on Sunday. Not as much off road as in Giro's past which have often had as much as 50% dirt. Only one crash, a guy from West Virginia on a really clapped out and tiny Morini who was trying to free his shift lever with his hand and went over the handlebars and broke his collar bone. Quite a few DNF's by Sunday with mechanicals though.
I made the mistake of agreeing to prep 3 of my bikes, one with a fresh engine (250 Jawa) and one with a fresh top end (250 Monza), and my Lodola, one for myself and one each for a couple for friends. Turned into allot of work and quite a scramble to get them done in time. I didn't get the Jawa running until Thursday evening and gave it a quick lap around the block and then it got it's breaking under fire, so I'll probably not be quite so generous in the future. The gods were smiling though and all three made it without too much trouble.
Dave on his Airone, next me on the Monza, then my Lodola then Bill Burke on his Harley Sprint and another friend of ours on his 160 Honda. A good time was had by all. More pic's as they appear.

Hi Mike, great info on the Giro, How many other beauties do you have hidden in the garage?? You have really confirmed my own choice of machines. I also have a Jawa 350 '72 californian and Duc singles. I did the Giro America in Calif last year and had a ball. National Jawa club is meeting at barber in July, any of the Guzzers going ? Ciao AL
