I have searched everywhere I can for a tip or a tool that lets you install the retaining clip for the V7 driveshaft boot and can find no info. I have torn up 2 of these boots (GU23548080) trying to install them with the spring clip into the swing arm. If anyone has any tips, tricks, or knows of an installation tool, please let me know.
Thanks!

Have you tried a cable tie
I think he's referring to the small inner clip that goes inside the rear-facing end of the boot. Part GU23548180. Looks like a round piece of wire, dissimilar to a Circlip, has sharp ends, no obvious means of compressing it. I'd also like to know what the trick is.

As for the clamp over the front-facing end of the boot, the OEM one on my V7(I) was a stainless hose clamp, and my V7II came from the factory with a black Zip-tie.

Yes, exactly. It is a sharp circlip with no holes to use a tool upon. The sharp ends easily puncture the rubber boot when you try to install it into the swing arm.

So, I actually took that advice and was able to get it in without puncturing the rubber bellows. Two zip ties, a vice, and some grease, then cut the ties and pull them out.
