So, stuck a bikini fairing on the 2018 V7III Special, mine is the blue color.
My question is, should I leave it gloss black( matches the engine and rear fender) or
should I paint it the blue color of the tank and side covers or should I get crazy and paint it
orange like the stripes on the tank and side covers?
Help a brother out folks.

Hold it up where it will go will help with viewer ideas. At this point blue with strategically placed orange stripes.

blue!

Thanks Gentlemen, will post a pic this weekend with it on the
bike. Full orange might be a bit much, but the blue is hard to match.
May just leave it black. Gonna be in the 60s this weekend so will see how well
it works and holds up!

Blue paint will make the tinted windshield really “pop” and the unified look of the whole black and blue, will have very beautiful symmetry and balance.

It will look stunning. Trust me. I’ve done this one before, 😆

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…

YES. exactly. perfect :D ^^

And here we are... After checking with 3 different sources( all auto body supply and paint outlets)
that I have experience with and having them scan my side cover, it would take multable tries to
even get close to the blue that Guzzi put on it. Closest after scanning 3 separate times was Nissan FAK
Metallic Peacock... It would cost a shitload of money trying to get it close, so there I am.:(
So now what, leave it black or do orange(which they could match) and take a chance on it...

Where's that old Asian guy sitting on the sidewalk perfectly matching paints after looking at a sample part, when ya need him?

Did your paint supply guy use a spectral scanner on your sample part? It's my understanding those digital scanners are quite accurate in breaking down the individual characteristics if any given sample.

Yes, scanner used. Unfortunately on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the
best at 2 of my supply stores the best was 6.8. Not very close. Just gonna leave it black...
