A while back I asked for ideas about oil dripping from under the side panel on my new V7C. I got some very good responces from this. I recently took the bike in for its 1st scheduled service. Bob, the technician that worked on the bike, really delved into the problem. As it turned out, the problem was 2 fold. # 1-- the oil drain line from the air box was kinked and the connection at the air box was not correct. #2---the air box is a 2 piece assembly with the seam running length wise. The bolts or screws along the bottom seam used to connect the two sections together were all loose. Looked as though they were never tightened. So, as you can see, the oil was trapped in the airbox and had no way to drain out . The gap along the bottom of the airbox was the only place where the oil could exit. All was taken care of and I have put about 150 miles on it since with no leak at all. They cleaned up the mess from the oil leak and all is well now. I just thought I would pass this along ,so anyone having a like problem might be able to solve it a bit quicker.
I certainly appreciate the work and thoroughness put forth by Bob and the dealer. All Seasons Sports Center is at the top of my list when folks ask me where to check out new and used bikes. And thanks again for all the help from the folks that responded to my initial question, Max
