Hi, how does the fuel line connector clip onto the red coloured connector under the tank ?

Is is a push on / pull off ? Mine has been removed and is now leaking a little... It doesn't say how in the manual.

Chris

Standard type QD connector, just poorly made and troublesome. Push the fuel line, with collar, towards the barb and then pull the ring on the collar back towards the line and at the same time pull the line back away from the barb.

so,

you push the grey ring plus black fuel line towards the red "thing"
then pull grey ring backwards
pull away everything?

That didn't work for me when I wanted to change the air-filter.
What did I do wrong?

Christiaan

Nothing. It's a piece of shit connector.

One trick that can help is disconnecting the fuel pump wiring connector and then cycling the engine with the starter motor for a few seconds as this de-pressurises the fuel line making it easier to disconnect.

Pete

I'd usually give the whole assembly a dust of a dry PTFE-lubricant before disconnecting. Don't know if it really helps, but I've never had any troubles following the procedure as Pete discribes here.
The Breva is so tight, that two flat nose-pliers comes handy as a susbstitute for fingers; it may be a help for the V7C as well?

Disconnect the fuel line power source and turn the motor over so that the pressure is relieved in the fuel line and that disconnect will pop off very easily.

I have not had my tank off yet, but isn't there a second connector further down stream of the tank that makes the job a little easier?
