As I live a ferry journey away from the shop that I bought the bike from, we agreed that I would carry out the first service at 1000kms and that the service book would be stamped on my next shop visit. I intend to use the approved oil and already have the OEM filter. How critical is it to check the valve clearances at this stage and is there anything in particular I should check?
