...Once, a long time ago when a wise tire guy from Dunlop convinced me of this truth, I’ve never gone back to only changing one tire only.
Try it 1 time and you will become a believer too! 😄
Curiously, I do the same thing with brakepads. All at once every time.
Thought to consider. 🤔😆
Thanks Kevin. I do see movement on the rear brake caliper. The front calipers are solid however (or appear that way), but I'll certainly give them another look. I also prevent surprises by operating the front brake lever a little before a spirited turn entry, but I shouldn't have to. Thanks...
I have that issue on my Breva rear brake, its the vibration on the caliper, as it moves on its pin it pushes the pads in a very small amount. I regularly operate the pedal very lightly so that when I do need the brake its not a shock. Try it yourself, grab hold of the rear caliper and wiggle it...
Can't relate to that either but I have experienced what you describe. I once refurbished front callipers on my 750 Virago including new seals. They turned out to be just a tad too big, which I should have realised by the effort required to get them in. End result was as you describe. The seals...
😳
I have literally no point if reference on this one! Just, Wow!
My Stelvio does nothing of the sort.
I would do a complete brake bleed and then retest.
...and tight tight, wheel axle is tight, fluid is <1 year old and clear, bike has 10k miles on it. Symptoms are very similar to when the brakepads get shoved back following a violent head shake. I don't use the rear brake much so can't comment on it, other than I do seem to have to bleed it...
...brake calliper on the R1200 range but I am not sure what the piston sizes are on them. I needed the little compression spring under the brakepads and found out that the BMW one was exactly the same and even cheaper than MG oem and I could just get it off the shelf at the BMW dealer.
Edited...
Check that the brake lever is returning correctly, my Breva once had a small stone that became lodged in the mechanism and every operation of the lever it dropped lower and exerted more pressure on the pads.
Hi all. I pulled the rear wheel off my 2022 V85TT.
After reinstalling, the rear brakepads now seem to be rubbing the disc when I spin the wheel.
Any suggestions?
...before the brake bites. The brake still brakes o.k..... just later, I think. I have cleaned the brake recently and also had a look at the brakepads. They are still good and do not seem to have gone down much. The brake fluid is also o.k.
I do not think I have air in the line. Once the brake...
On my 2021 V7-850 I bled the rear brakes and wasn’t happy with the results. I purchased a banjo bolt with bleeder from GTM. I installed this on the rear brake line at the ABS pump. Bleeding at this point (the highest point in the system) got my brakes working great.

Sidchrome make a 26mm & a 30mm sockets. Not sure if avail there, "Bunnings" stock them in Australia. Just carry these & maybe a 1/2" handle (optional as can find a 1/2" handle almost anywhere, not so a 26mm socket!) & a tyre/pucture repair kit & a SLIME & should be good for the odd nail issue.
Thanks, interesting way to solve the axel issue. As far as the brakepads. When I rode Hondas for many years all of those in the knows always said use OEM brakepads. The EBC pads are not expensive so I will have to give that a show. I just really want to feel the rear brake working when I press...
The rear brake on my Special isn't too strong either. I would try some more aggressive pads. Good selection available from EBC and not too expensive.

One post two questions.
First: I am looking for a couple of spanner axel wrenches for my 2020 V85TT, a 30mm and a 26mm. I know I can use socket wrenches but they are awkward to carry. I can't seem to find a 26mm that has an offset to get to the rear axel nut. My wife and I are taking a 35 day...
Only having recently learned that the V100 uses newer type front brakepads, I brought some in to stock. Brembo offers them in the new SA/SP compounds. The rear pads are the same as the CARC models. I can get stock pads (not shown yet until requested), but these are all cheaper and better. I'll...
Hi Antonio, I actually live in Canada but bought my V100 in Aveiro, but keep it in Figueira. I spend a few months there a year (I'm retired) to take advantage of the amazing roads in Europe.
I hear you re. the R100, I had a R1150R that needed the removal of the oil coolers and tank just to...
Greetings.
52 years old and only now I bought an italian motorcycle. Yes.. shame on me :)
Breva 750. Built 2005. 7500 km. Stock condition.
Corsa red (fastest colour)...
Looks fantastic in my garage (I have there also many japanese and some BMW models, from the "old" days).
I already did "the...
...on these old bikes.
Surprisingly, the rear has still enough bite for me, altough serving only one disk now.
I am using standard brembo brakepads on the cast discs of the v50 and steel discs of the lario.
I tried ferodo and brembo sinter pads, but i was not happy withit. Too much wear and...
...fast I use only rear brake so I can perfect my rev matching, so I want my rear brakes to be solid. So I'm upgrading to sintered brakepads and I'm upgrading rear master cylinder. I believe OEM is 13mm rear cylinder, I'm upgrading to 11mm. It sure didn't make sense to me on that at the start...
