Do you really want the GPS to shut down and turn off every time you turn off the bike? I’ve been using a Garmin Zumo XT for years on multiple bikes. Both my phone and headset are paired to the XT so I can hear my music and get alerts while I’m riding. If the XT had to fire up and reconnect to...
The first version of the V85tt had the gear guestimator. The E5 version has an actual switch, as does the V100. It’s part number 22 in the Gear box/Selector/Shift cam, diagram. It’s even call a “Gear position sensor.”
Personally I would demand a new engine. I wouldn’t want to be worrying about possible bearing problems down the road caused by the load being applied to the bearings as the engine was devouring it’s valve. But that’s me.
After looking at the official engine shop manual today, it appears that the water pump coolant side seal and bearing can be replaced after removing just the water pump cover and impeller. Might have to machine up some type of tool to get the seal out but it looks doable. As for the oil seal...
To the OP, the MG tpms does show what the pressure is in each wheel.
To those who think a tpms is for those who are too lazy to use a tire pressure gauge, that is not what they are designed to do. Their purpose is to alert the rider when there is a loss of tire pressure while the bike is in...
So I'll ask again, because you really haven't answered the question. What have you used the tool for that was useful? Or what could it be used for that is useful? I know you said it can brick your bike's computer, which in my book is a lot worse than worthless. But I want you to explain to us...
So after reading all the negatives you said about the tool, to include, "Under no circumstances, DO NOT SELECT any option to reset, reinitialize, configure, configuration, renew, or anything like this." , please tell us what worth does the tool have? Because it sounds like you yourself are...
So please tells us what you've used the tool for. Aren't you the one who used the tool and it left your bike inoperable without dealer intervention? If so, what were you doing with the tool that made it inoperable?
This really could be a useful tool if it came with some kind of instructions on how to use it. But it doesn't. You are expected to somehow know what every function/menu item does with the bike's computers. I guess you could just try every function/menu item and see what it does, but I wouldn't...
I just bought a slightly used V100s today. Mine does what you described. There is definitely a pronounced pulsation that's felt through the clutch lever. I contacted the MG dealer where I bought it and was told that it's normal. Some do it more than others. As today was the first time I've ever...
I have the same bike as you, same year and model. This is what I've found using the Diag tool so far. When you select the bike from the list of choices, and choose "V85/V100 Euro 5" it will display the following menu items, Injection, Service Reset, EOBD, Find all Error Codes. Other menu items...
Well now that I have the tool I'll answer your question, which was originally mine. No, the tool will not do anything involving the OEM TPM system.
Things it will do that might be useful for the Guzzi home mechanic are:
Turning off the service wrench
Activating the ABS pump
Being able to check...
My Triumph Tiger 1050 had the same loop wire connector. It was for the factory alarm which would disable the engine if the alarm was triped. On my Norge, it made the anti hijack feature of the Scorpio alarm I installed as simple as cutting the loop and then adding a connector. It seams to be a...
Before I bought my 07 Norge, new in 08, I looked at the FJR, ST1300, New Concours and the BMW R1200RT. All nice bikes. The BMW was too expensive, the Concours looked like a maintenance nightmare and cooked you as you drove, ST1300 was looking a little long in the tooth and it was next to...
I pulled the Norge out of the garage a few days ago. The rear brake was as stiff as it was when I first moved the reservoir 6 months ago. This may be the cure to the problem.
About a month ago I moved the rear brake master cylinder reservoir to the location where the charcoal canister once lived. So far :D the rear brake is as solid as when I last bled them a month ago. Only time will tell if this mod cures the problem. If nothing else it makes bleeding the rear...
