Sport 1200 rear caliper slide pin. Two types?

Got new pin with clip today. Fitted perfectly. Guzzi dealer I bought it off was unaware of two caliper types- maybe the end snaps off the shaft and there is only one type???? Hmmm

Sport 1200 rear caliper slide pin. Two types?

Managed to lose my pin so had to fashion one until I can get a new one. Do the pins interchange? I'd like the one with the retaining clip. Thanks.

Sport 1200 rear caliper slide pin. Two types?

Up for pads for the rear of my 1200 Sport. Service manual says that there is a split pin that should be removed to extract the slide pin. Mine doesn't have it and the end of the pin is recessed so it can't have a split pin on the end. Looking at pictures of cailpers on Ebay for Guzzis and it...

Anyone modded a standard Breva 1100 muffler?

Thanks for that. What I am going to try is drill the rivets off the front of the 1200 muffler and mod it similar to you then join to modded Breva 1100 rear. Looks like it will fit,. Hybrid! :)

Torque for B11 Axle Pinch Bolts

I have a GPZ900R and have three manuals- genuine Kawasaki, Clymer and Haynes. TWO of them are wrong on how to wire the ignition coils and ONE OF THEM IS THE GENUINE MANUAL!!!! :(

Anyone modded a standard Breva 1100 muffler?

Thanks too Android for the pics. I'm a bit slow though- what exactly did you do to the pipe- is the bottom pic what goes insode the standard outer. (carbon and chrome end cap???? Ta

Anyone modded a standard Breva 1100 muffler?

Thanks for your replies gents. Pity the Breva pipe can't be modded easliy- very nice looking pipe and the one I bought it spotless. My other two pipes are festy. :(

Anyone modded a standard Breva 1100 muffler?

I have a standard pipe too. Your mod looks great. I have a GPR muffler that has a hole in the bottom from dragging on the road as well.

Torque for B11 Axle Pinch Bolts

Fork hubs closing - 10Nm. From Sport 1200 manual. Mine were loose as was the axle. Ruined the handling and assumedly dangerous. I tighten these by hand without a torque wrench. Just don't overdo it- I know someone who used to have a ZZR1100 that they snapped the lower fork leg overtightening...

Anyone modded a standard Breva 1100 muffler?

Just bought a perfect original Breva 1100 muffler. Looks really nice but I would imagine not sound as good as my aftermarket pipe I was wondering if anyone removed the baffle inside for better tunes? If so how did you do it? Thanks! I know it doesn't fit my Sport 1200 yet, but am looking at...

I think I have fixed my Guzzis handling...finally. Duh!

As a progress report I'm pretty happy with the bike now. Rode it for the last couple of days for work and it was comfy and a pleasure to ride. Went out last night two up and it didn't come even remotely close to scraping like it used to. Went pretty hard to see how it would behave. Have to try...

    Norge sump drain plug

Guzzi parts catalogues and online ordering states 10 X 1.0 which is incorrect. It is the same plug as transmission and CARC. Had me confused for a while as my bike had the incorrect plug in it and I wanted to helicoil it to the correct size.

I think I have fixed my Guzzis handling...finally. Duh!

Thanks Tony. I bought a key to keep on the bike and a 1/2 inch drive 7mm for my tool set. I checked that the bolts were tight. Might have to see if I can loosen them before I have to. Hmmm.

I think I have fixed my Guzzis handling...finally. Duh!

You are probably right. I do throw it around and I am heavy so front respringing looks likely. :)

I think I have fixed my Guzzis handling...finally. Duh!

My Guzzi has driven me a special type of batty trying to work out what is wrong with the handling. The rear end was way to soft and that has been sorted with a respring/revalve. It improved things but it still had a wobbly front end. (didn't inspire confidence at all!!! Ride at speed at your own...

    Norge sump drain plug

10 X 1.5 is the correct size, even though the Guzzi catalogues say otherwise! Sump off and helicoil for me.

Am I expecting too much or is this easily fixed????

Thanks for the replies gents. I think I have made some progress- at least with preload- I put the bike on full preload yesterday and come up with 26mm sag which is getting pretty close. (suspension knowledge is not my forte). With my partner on the bike (on her own) the sag is 11mm.... she is...

You CAN buy the clutch lever pushrod assembly separately!

Installed mine yesterday. Very nice. :)

Dunno - have left it where it came from service guy so far. Ta

Am I expecting too much or is this easily fixed????

Looks like I may be partsly to blame: (MCN) : As a very broad guide a road bike should have 25-30mm of loaded sag at the front and 20-22mm at the rear. I thought rear was 35. Need to readjust and remeasure.... :( Duh
