Greetings group,

I'm posting here for a friend who is very mechanically inclined, but technologically challenged. Poor kid has no internet.

His bone stock '07 Griso with about 15k miles on it has started experiencing some intermittent issues. Primarily it will sometimes bog on acceleration with the throttle wide or nearly wide open. Backing off resolves it. Sometimes it just goes away. Sometimes shutting off the bike for a time resolves it. This has happened with both warm and cold engine. In at least one case the symptom was accompanied by loud pinging, and hot running.

I'm not sure if it's relevant, but we live at about 3000 ft elev., and often ride in the Sierras up to 7800 ft.

The bike is currently at the only Guzzi dealer within 250 miles, and they're unable to resolve the problem. In their short test rides, they can't replicate it either. They say the fuel pump recall has already been taken care of, and that the injection mapping is correct. They suggest a Power Commander system or such may help. The bike is still under the last couple months of warranty.

I've searched this forum and others like it with no luck on similar issues. Anyone here have any suggestions? Experienced anything similar?

Thanks for any ideas.

- Dan

Dan, does the dealer have a Axone? Otherwise, someone with the VDST software?

It sounds like it could be the 02-sensor or other related sensors/TPS.

Hope that helps... report back on your findings.
