Is the battery tender "plus" strong enough to charge the battery in a 07 Griso? I heard that the Battery Tender Junior is not strong enough. My instrument reads 14 volts The yuasa battery I have has 12 volts printed on it. Is the electrical system 12 or 14 volts?
The original battery lasted a year while I used a battery tender junior. I figure that the original battery should last for around 5 or 6 years. Was it the chargers fault or mine for not using a correct charger?:(
Should I use an Odyesse charger?

The system is 12 volts, 2 volts per cell of the battery. since full charge will provide a little over 2 volts per cell, it is not uncommon to see 14 volts measured.

Battery charging techniques are as numerous as there are riders. The Junior should do the job, but don't leave the charger on too long. In the not riding much season, I'll only have a charger connected for 12-24 hours once a month. More than that, I believe even with the very high priced chargers, you could "cook" a battery resulting in premature failure. With this routine I've had original batteries last 6 to 7 years. Of course, the larger the battery, the more tolerant of prolonged charging. Now that Guzzi is using smaller batteries, I'm in favor of shorter charging times and more time between using an external charger.

Couldn't agree more about the battery charging technique. I charge my batteries using a cheap timer providing 15 minutes four times a day, i.e. a hours worth every 24 hours.

Never lost a battery yet, and managed to bring several back from the dead using this method.
