If I remember correctly, some of the spine frame V11s came from the factory with steering stabilzers. Was this the case with any of the big motor Breva-chassis bikes that followed? I know the Sport was short-lived, as it kinda gave way to the naked Griso and Piaggio refocused on the V7s as the sportier offerings...and the bigger sport bikes were delegated to Aprilla.

Welcome to the Forum, and congrats on the 12S. Nothing available over the counter for a damper, and most of the handling issues can be resolved with proper suspension. Is it stock suspension? Put the damper money towards replacing the stock rear shock and the forks corrected. I can be of help if you'd like direct email; Todd at GuzziTech.com

Thanks, Todd! Suspension is stock; no real complaints here, except it seems a bit unstable in very strong (30+ mph) cross winds. I've seen some Douchecatis and Rice Burners running an Ohlins stabilizer and was wondering if anyone had tried one on the later model big MGs.

What Todd said.
Few Guzzi's actually need a steering damper due to aggressive geometry. Most that may seem to need one really only need their suspension sorted.
The two Guzzi's I own that actually came from the factory with a steering damper have had said steering damper removed to improve steering. All the damper did was make it steer more like a truck.

My pleasure, and if the suspension is stock, you would be amazed at how well it works with a sorted suspension. I've done a handful in the past when they were new. As Mike says above, a steering damper is a band-aid for poor geometry (rear a sacked out shock likely when you sit on it), and as he, I've pulled every one as it's not needed when the bike is properly set up. Trust me... I have decades of experience in it, both street and track (15 years with Guzzi now).
