Hi All
Recently I replaced all of the fill, level, and drain plugs on the final drive. low and behold the threads in the drain hole disintegrated thus I pulled off the final drive, opened it up and installed a Time-Sert thread repair. In order to do this the rear shock needed removal. wouldn't come off the upper post. Seems to be frozen. I was able to pull the shock off the final drive. Question what would be a suggestion as to how to get the top off. The problem is the rubber bushing prevents you from exerting any kind of meaningful torque on the thing. Ideas? Thanks. Shocks are Koni 7610 Dial- a Ride

Soak with some home made penetrating oil. A 50/50 mix of ATF and Acetone. It may take a few days of soaking, but should get in between the shock bushing and the post on the frame. Patience will be your friend. If the shock ends up damage beyond use, Todd has some excellent shocks available from the Store. Not knowing the age of your shocks and mileage, they may need replacement anyway.

Thanks. Hard to soak it due to its position but I'll keep squirting.
