Anyone have an opinion or experience with the Mille GTR? There is one for sale near me and I am tempted but have mostly ridden small blocks.. 400 lbs vs 550..... It seems like a whole other thing, extra weight, longer more hp...
Thanks,
John

The Mille GT is a nice bike. My only complaint with them is the terrible plastic splitter for the throttle (commonly used on many models of that era). You can never get throttle balance, or if you did, it wouldn't stay in balance long. A friend of mine has one with a side car. She was gutless until I changed out the throttle control with a Tomaselli 2C and custom cables. With the bike running on two cylinders in sync, she pulls well now.

I have owned my 1989 Mille for about twenty years. I own other and newer bikes but the Mille gets first call. Achilles heels are, excess throttle tension, lousy seat, weak headlight, rotted out mufflers. All are easily fixed, Vanda cruise for throttle along with lighter throttle springs from MI, Rich Maund for seat remake, late model H4 8" Bosch headlight, late model Cali mufflers are a bolt on option. I won't be selling mine any time soon.

Lift up the body work, and there's a LeMans lurking under there. :D I have a Strada, which is basically a Mille with the medium valve engine. Great handling bike that will last forever. Comfortable ergos. What's not to like?

I have owned the Mille for about ten years. Absolutely a fantastic ride.

Yes they do come with a steering damper. I removed mine, as it made my handling worse. The damper was grabbing while going through its stroke.
