Greetings.

52 years old and only now I bought an italian motorcycle. Yes.. shame on me :)

Breva 750. Built 2005. 7500 km. Stock condition.
Corsa red (fastest colour)...

Looks fantastic in my garage (I have there also many japanese and some BMW models, from the "old" days).

I already did "the usual" I do when I buy "new" bikes: (i) remove oil pan and clean inside, plus (obviously) oil and filter change; (ii) clean brake calipers, pistons, pads + dot4 renewel).

(i) was incredible simple: unlike all other bikes I have (including 2 cylinder ones, namely my R100) no need to dismantle exhaust headers to get access to oil pan... thumbs up, Guzzi!

Bought already some new old stock (flexible-type) side cases.

I have also the Hepco center stand to install; hope to do it in the next days.

And that's it for now.

Regards.

Congratulations. I do miss my Breva 750. The red is a sharp color. Enjoy.

Hi Antonio, I actually live in Canada but bought my V100 in Aveiro, but keep it in Figueira. I spend a few months there a year (I'm retired) to take advantage of the amazing roads in Europe.
I hear you re. the R100, I had a R1150R that needed the removal of the oil coolers and tank just to get to the battery!
Welcome!

Yes, I'm seeing great/practical good engineering here in Breva compared to my R100 and R1100RS; e.g.:

- both those BMW generations use (I think old Guzzis suffer from this also) accelerator cable split somewhere in routing, which means problems for consistent synchronisation between cylinders; there were actually 2 systems (with same basic/bad idea) in the "oilhead" series to try to "fix" problem; Breva has a rigid link connecting thotle bodies; Honda did this also before '80s in the CX500! I know a 180 degree cylinder engine is not easy to deal, but... thumbs down BMW

- the "oilhead" BMWs don't have oil pan.. it would be ok if bike owners changed oil every year and blah, blah as per manual.. but reality is not like that, and oil will form *heavy* deposits over time in bottom of engine; no oil pan?? not possible to clean unless dismantle engine, which is ridiculous, of course

Regards.
