Mornin all,

As many know there is an ongoing saga of a 1200 sport fairing for my Breva, well there should be some progress in the next few weeks, but I need some help.

In preparation for a proposed three week Christmas ride I have decided to put a screen on top of the flyscreen and to do this have ordered a set of these

MADSTAD ROBO BRACKETS

These guys are famous in the dirt world for their bracket that fits the VStrom and have just come out with a universal unit that looks like it might work for me.

But what I neeed is a screen to put on top of them that goes with the bike and will work.

So two questions.

1) Any suggestions on a suitable screen?

2) Photos needed as at the moment I don't have a 1200 Sport faring that would pass muster :eek:hmy: - the blokes at Madstad have said that they also might be able to help but need 2 photos of the 1200 sport to overlay some screen pics onto to get an idea of size and fit.

Ideally 2 pics, one from directly in front of the bike and one from the riding position showing the instruments and curvature of the flyscreen - someone care to wip out the camera and post em for me..?

Thanks heaps!

Madstad is about 2.5 hours from me. I'll give them a call and see if I can make an appointment to ride up on my 1200 Sport and meet with them.

I have seen their bracket on a number of bikes, high quality product, hope they can make this happen for you.

Wow Scum, that is too much to offer!

Except of course if there are some good twisties between you and them!!!

I really owe you a beer!

At the moment I am thinking that an MRA Vario screen for naked bikes might be an option with some cutting and modifications I thought I might overlay some pics in photoshop as a no cost suck it and see. The bloke at Madstad (his email is on the pooter at home and i can't remember his name) said he might be able to come up with some suggestions as well so the pics were for him, but if he sees a bike in the flesh all the better.

In the meantime see if these two are good enough.

Hey Roadscum, the bloke that I have been talking to at Madstad is Mark Stadnyk.

Mike, I just got off the phone with Mark and have arranged a visit for the middle of next
week..... depending on the weather. I just purchased a Give 760 for my 1200 sport and will wait till after
my visit with Mark to mount it up. It wouldn't supprise me if I will need to mount his bracket to the Givi
for the best possible protection.

Oh how I wish there were some twistie roads here in Florida..... but florida is nothing more then a sand bar.
It's about 550 miles to get to some good raod with ups, downs, & arounds!

FREE BEER!!!!now that's well worth the trip to Australia!!! ;- )

I'll let you know how my visit with Mark turns out.

Regards, Paul

Thanks Paul. I recon the combination of their brakcet and a well designed screen might be a good one, but of course screens are the never ending story and I have yet to see or hear of any screen that ticks ALL the boxes.

The fridge is stocked, you're welcome anytime!

As long as he doesn't actually offer you Oz beer!

If memory serves me right, Castlemaine XXXX owned by Lion Breweries (NZ)??

The only Oz beer I can even begin to savour is James Squire -I'm sure there are others, just gotta find them before their arses get frozen off!!

I was at Madstad today with my 1200 Sport. Mark took a few photo's and
will sent them off to you. He also made a template of the white portion
of the fairing and may consider duplicating it in aluminun for those who
don't want to drill 4 holes in the original plastic part.

He's a stand up guy and produces a nice kit!

While he was making the tempate he offered me use of his bike so I could get a lunch.
That was my 1st ride on a VFR.... VERY NICE!!!

Ice that beer, ya never know when roadscum will show up..........

Hey Scum, Good to hear they are the real deal.

Mark emailed me during the week to say that they have shipped the Robo struts, so I should have them next week I suppose. Still trying to figure out what screen to put on top of them though.

Beer's cold any time. Summer has come with a Vengeance to our part of the world.

Check out the pics HERE

Mark took pictures of a screen he sells for the Can Am Spider being held up to my bike. He said he
would send them to you. That screen complemented the design of the 1200 sport nicely and was large enough to
provide good protection. If you don't get those pictures from Mark soon, send him a reminder.

Post up some pictures when you get that rig together..
