I read the recent Motorcyclist issue that stated the 2010 Stelvio had much improved fueling over earlier models. Any idea if the 2010 Griso will get similar updates? Will the US get a 2010 Griso?

The Stelvio was revised for more low-to-mid range power, which the Griso doesn't seem to have that public impression/need. Yes, count on a 2010 G8V, especially since they showed one at EICMA (per separate thread). Peter Roper on this Forum posted about a dyno run with the '09 Stelvio, and it looks quite good.

I found this while searching the internet for more information on the 2010 Griso -
"the powerful "Quattrovalvole" engine delivering, in its latest incarnation, a maximum torque of 113 Nm at just 5800 rpm, marking a significant improvement over the 108 Nm at 6400 rpm of the previous version.
These results were achieved by adopting new cam profiles, new and more efficient injectors and a revised air box, which make the "Quattrovalvole" engine even more responsive at low engine speeds while still producing practically the same maximum power."

This was quoted for the Griso SE. I'm still not sure what model will be available in the US.

I am considering a 2009 Griso and was wondering if anyone else knows or has ridden one of the newer 2010's? Would the cost difference be worth it? or could we retrofit the airbox and cams?

From Noob that had a 2000 V11 Sport years ago and miss the Guzzi feeling

I'm sure they can be sourced and fitted (however a bit tough right now as I understand it)... and having spent a handful of time on a '09 G8V, I'd say you'll love it as delivered, if/once you get the fueling sorted. I'd also bet that you'll save a handful of cash on an '09, if that matters to you at all.
Welcome back in advance... the Griso is a great replacement for a V11S IMO.

I have not ridden a 8V Griso, 2009 or 2010. I have a 4V '07 I bought in '06. So my opinion is not exactly what you are looking for, but I'll pipe in any way. If you are the type of person who is into the latest and greatest then you may want the 2010 Griso. But I doubt the differences are going to be very noticeable, and unless you rode them back to back you likely wouldn't know the difference. And if you are into the latest and greatest then I am surprised you are looking at a Guzzi. My guess is you would be perfectly happy on an '09 and you could likely save a bunch of money on a leftover that you could then spend to make your '09 better then a 2010.
Every now and then I wish I had a 8V Griso, and then I ride my 4V Griso and forget all about the 8V.
The Griso is not as sharp as a V11 handling wise but the 8V motor, even in an '09, should put a smile on your face just fine.

Thanks guys for the responses... I rode a Griso 1100 a couple years ago and like it very much (miss the crank effect my V11 sport had though) I am trying to get a shipping quote right now for an 09 Griso 8v and then move forward. Definitely a longer wheelsbase bike than the V11 or my current 03 Kawasaki Z1000 (modified to actually work).

Thanks Todd for talking with me on email. Once the deal is done, I will update your poll.

I intend to buy the right exit pipe (not sure which model now that you have multiples), PCV/Autotune,ECU reflash, Intake Alum ring, Air Injection Stepper... Plus your ECU tuning software/testing software since I don't have a GOOD local dealer (but luckily I have one a short drive/Ride to Tuscon or Prescott, AZ)

Thanks
Chris

The Griso still has the crank effect rocking the bike, it is just a little subdued with the clutch pulled in or in neutral compared with the V11. I imagine this is due to the lighter crank/flywheel. But the effect is the same when riding. Less effort to turn the bike, no extra stability from revving the motor and slipping the clutch at slow speed, and the bike pulling to one side slightly when on the gas and the other way when off.
Hope it all works out for you.

As a V11 and a Griso 1200 owner:
the 1200 G has a big hefty throw to the right when the throttle is wound.

I don't know about the 1100 G, but I'm sure it does still have some too.
