I'm in the process of bringing my new-to-me Griso home to CA from Illinois, and I'm trying to get everything ready for my visit to our DMV, who take a dim view of bringing out-of-state bikes into our fair State.

I understand that Grisos (and the other Guzzi bikes) are "50-State" smoggable, but I'll need to show them proof - kind of like this:

Any suggestions where I should look?

Thanks -

Mark,

Saw your previous thread here and that on w/g.

Just went out into the garage and popped the saddle off my twin to yours.

Looked all around for visible decals.

Other than the "carry no monkeys or armadillos over 5 lbs as pillions," nothing like those CEPA samples.

Checked my (admittedly dated) parts list and see none such listed at plate 39.

Will try to locate my manual, but did look to see in the "service station" tech manual, and did not see, either.

If R59's comment on w/g about "casterectomies" applies to you, there are probably spare ones you can put back on.

Suspect at this point that Piaggio/Guzzi USA may need to assist. Maybe Jim B at RFC can call for you?

Heck, with Guzzi's "design group" and tech school out there in California, surely some of those folks can help? Yeah ... OK ... never mind.

Hey Bill -

Jeremy included the stock exhaust and canister, so I'm good on that front.

I've got a couple of calls in to Jim, to see if he can pull a rabbit out of his hat. I'm going up to see him and my bike tomorrow, so perhaps I'll get another peasant surprise then.

However, something from Piaggio might be needed.

Thanks again - I'll be updating better when I get in front of a proper PC.

I could be wrong but I think all those EPA stickers were on the gas tank when new. Those were the first items I removed after getting home from the dealership.
