Hi All,

After being greeted with a little drip of oil that I thought was the Sump gasket leaking I'm now coming round to the fact that it may actually be the rear main seal.

After asking around about local repairers on here as they are few and far between up here I was recommended Ribble Valley Motorcycles, they are very friendly and down to earth on the phone and I was able to speak to their head tec for quite a while. I mentioned that I have a leak and have read somewhere that there was a modified part ref the rear seal failing. I asked if he could check if my bike had any recalls or work outstanding and he sent me the details of all warranty work done as the bike is relatively new to me (Much to my amazement) . I thought I would just share with you guys as I'm quite surprised how much has actually been done especially under warranty. I knew the bike was Rollerised about 5k ago but it seems I have also had both fork legs replaced under warranty after being cracked, lifter buckets, centre stand and wiring harness.

I just wondered if anyone would know if these were actually documented issues and what info there is around about it all. I enjoying finding out about bike history and problems etc.

Also if this helps anyone else get anything back then I thought that would be good also.

Cheers all.

Well, it's nice to know it was fixed. Peace of mind. Those are known replacement items here in US under warranty. Your drip of oil may be another issue we had here, bolts on rear main bottoming out so as not having sufficient toque on bolts. There is a Tech Bulletin on the issue, OR it could be a seal.

Hi there. Yes I've read about that just need to either pluck up the courage to fix it myself or bite the bullet and get it fixed. I was wondering if there was a recall due to the problem you mention. Yes I agree it's nice to see they have fixed those issues. A little peace of mind. I wish all garages were as willing to release such info.
