Just got it firing!
I'm switching gas tanks on my 2011 V7R. This will be the 3rd tank in 13 years, so probably should have gone to the steel one, but I like the seamless look of the plastic. This time, no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the fuel line disconnect to release. Smart or stupid, I cut the fuel line just to the get the tank off. Probably had to do it anyway, as even on the bench I can't get the disconnect apart (yes, I've done it several times in the past). So now my issue is that the fuel harness is on back order, and rather than wait 6 weeks or more I thought I'd just make my own fuel harness. Any problem with just using standard high pressure fuel line and traditional hose clamps? The stock fuel pipe looks heat shrunk onto the barbs -- I thought I'd just cut the stock tubing off and use hose clamps on the fittings. Am I missing something? Any reason to wait for the stock part?
Thanks!
