I hit a nasty puddle in a curve and laid the bike down on its side. The bike was fine but the pavement sheared off the spark plug cap when it made contact with the pavement and the wires were exposed and severed when I stood the bike up. It still ran on one cylinder so I got it home but I'm looking for replacement spark plug caps and my local dealership told me that the part is no longer available and they have not come out with a new part# to supersede it. Has anyone else run into this issue? Is there a viable replacement for the spark plug cover? Mine is totally shredded, I don't think I can salvage it.

Ahh, really? Sweet. Ok I'm going to link the original part number to make it easier for others to find this answer. GU01717430 Thank you!

Welcome, remove your plug boot and see if your spark plugs have terminal nut, Type E (LD05E), or a threaded post at the top, Type F (LD05F).

Hey, I checked out the spark plugs and compared them with this video I found,

They are the "loose" style, so they have the terminal but it screws off and shows the threaded post. I'm assuming this corresponds with the terminal nut Type E. I found some and they're on the way. Thanks for your help Todd!

I must have made a typo or something because when I searched for the LD05F the top 5 options on ebay were all from Europe with no seller reviews. I just redid the search and see a lot more options. Woops!
