Hello all. New to the meesage board. Does anyone know when the V7 racers will be arriving at dealeships in the northeast? I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone, including the dealer that I ordered from. I left my trusty 1996 Califonia as a down payment for the new racer and I'm having some doubts as to weather the new bike will show up in time for the season.

One other question, are the tanks going to be chrome or black? I read the chrome tanks were cracking due to pressure buildup. Some epa evapoarative canister issue.

Thanks

Yes, we can look at your profile but it does really help when dealing with a world wide medium like the internet if you are a bit more specific.

North East where? England? USA? China? Australia? Madagascar? You could be anywhere.

Pete

Sorry Pete, my bad. North East USA. I should have been more specific. My sincerest apologies, for am new to the message boards and have to plead ignorance. Now, about those racers...

Tanks will be black. Delivery would be tough to pin down, but they should be able to say if it is in transit. Did you try to call Piaggio NY and ask?

Thanks for the info Todd, I prefer the black anyway. Haven't spoken directly to Piaggio, but my dealer called when I was there last Wednesday. Speaking in tongues, in transit, at sea, in port. The only good news I heard is that they have billed my dealership for the 2 that he ordered. I'm sure they want to deliver so they can be paid, but the lack of communication from the importer is frustrating at best. I've been told 10 days to 2 weeks. Hoping for the 1st of March. If you know, are the tanks metal or plastic?

Thanks again

John

Plastic tanks, and if they are in transit/boat, early March is fairly aggressive unless it is due into port next week.

Good luck with the Racer. I'm in the northeast as well ( Massachusetts) with a V7 Classic. A great machine!
Hope you get your ride soon.

Joe

It is not my intention to appear narky. It's just that it does make sense when using a world wide medium to be a bit more specific. This board actually has area specific sections too.

As for the 'Chrome' tanks it has to be said that there have been some fairly serious issues with them and while in some markets the defects have been warrantied in others, like Oz, owners have just been stonewalled which makes my blood boil. It's not our importer, its the factory and it frustrates the bejasus out of us as usually Piaggio Group are one of the better manufacturers to deal with viz-a-viz warranty, especially when compared to some Japanese maunfacturers who will remain nameless!!!!

Even if the 'Sputtering', (It's what the false chrome finish is called! Don't ask me! I only live here!!!!  ) tank was available I'd avoid it for that reason alone even if you did want to ride around on something that looks like a cross-dresser's handbag!!

Thanks, Joe. I've been down this road before when I ordered the California. It took over three months to receive that one.

Hoping for a nice spring, but you know it'll probably snow the day after it arrives.

The latest word from Piaggio about the racers, they should be in showrooms in the north east USA in early March. I hope this is specific enough for everyone, as vague as the reply was. cheers
