2014 Cali Custom on Sale

Wondering what the difference between the 2014 and 15 or 16 is. I found a heavily discounted, brand new 14 custom and trying to figure if there is a reason it is so heavily discounted. I keep reading the 15 is the same as 14. am I missing something?

I appreciate any thoughts. I rode the 16 eldorado and loved the ride. not really wanting the eldorado though - and that price is about $5k more than this custom.

Thanks for any feedback!

Welcome to the Forum, and in advance to the GT Famiglia. Difference between all of the models is mostly cosmetics, colors, outside of the wheels, bars, etc. Mechanically speaking, there is little difference between them all, '14 to current. Go for the '14 Custom if the $ is right for you, you won't go wrong in knowing/addressing some of the smaller issues, found here on this Forum, like the cracking rear fender tab, etc. Best of luck on the purchase.

I own a 2014 Cali1400 Custom. I've discovered the 2014 Custom doesn't include the new multimedia/bluetooth features of the 2015+. I've seen it's supposed to be possible to add it to the 2014, but haven't been in to my dealer's to ask that question yet....

BTW, I can't imagine what new/missing features would be worth $5k to me. I love my 2014!

Just specifically ask them to check when prepping the bike if any are available. Mine was up to date a couple of months ago, so there may have been an update for early in 2014's run, but not the whole year's output I guess...

There's a new software upgrade that is a big improvement in low throttle conditions (not so snatchy anymore) ... richens the fuel mixture too as I can tell from the mileage gauge and the smell in the garage before it fully warms up when it seems to be less rich than in warm-up mode but more so than it was before the upgrade.

Gained better driveability in the engine although I'd say I lost some top-end power ... worthwhile trade-off nevertheless imo.

Shipping from Australia to Colorado may be a bit high! that thing has accessories I've never seen before on it. I saw the price and thought it a bit high till I saw where it was.
