If anyone is interested, I just received a Moto Guzzi Racer jacket. It is a beautifully appointed jacket that is well worth looking into.

I need a jacket shaped like an inverted cone, looking at most other middle aged riders, why aren't they made like that as standard?

This is an XL and fits a 42-43 chest and was just over 600 beans. It comes with a removable liner and shoulder/elbow/back protection.

This jacket actually has some room in the waist :shock: maybe a bit more than I need. But there are snaps on the back to tighten it up. I find it quite comfortable and like that its a bit longer in the back than a standard cafe jacket. The jackets do fit small in the Italian tradition.
