2014 Norge With Too Much Fork Dive?

Hi All,

I'm a new owner of a 2014 Norge, I just have about 300 miles on it but one thing I do notice is the huge amount of fork dive when braking at any speed. The faster you are going, the worst it becomes. Yes, the front brakes are super powerful, more so than any of my other Guzzi's.

The dealer had the front fork preload adjusters all the way backed out and I set them as per the owner's manual, 3 turns in (out of 18 turns possible). I re road the bike and it really has not improved. I did check the front fork sag and it is at 33mm. I'm 220 lbs. with gear.

So, should I increase the fork preload more, or go with 15 or 20 wt. fork oil, or bite the bullet and put in the Matrix fork kit?

If it dives this bad with just me on the bike, it has to be way worst when I will be riding two up and loaded.

Thoughts please,
Thanks, Mike

Mike, at 220 in gear, you really need different springs, and the Matris Kit has proven itself over and over. Just buy it and be done with it. Only downside is you'll then realize how bad the shock is. Really best to do both at once, but worth doing regardless.

Thanks Todd,

I kinda thought it would go this direction, I did just order the Matrix kit from you, can you make sure I ordered the right one? Which weight fork oil do you suggest for this kit? Yes, the rear shock has already bounced me off the saddle a few times on big dips, which shock do you recommend as I will be riding two up half the time with luggage. It will be a month or two before I make the rear shock purchase.

Thanks again,
Mike
