I have purchased a set of OEM saddlebags for my 2014 Touring. They need to be painted to match my bike, which is white. It appears the top third of my gas tank is a different shade of white compared to the rest of the bike. Is this true, or are my old eyes deceiving me?

If the bike does have two different shades of white, which color did the factory use on the saddlebags?

Unfortunately, Moto Guzzi has never released their paint codes.

You have to take a painted panel or part to an automotive paint shop where they can use their color scanning paint mixer to mix up a match.
Thanks Scott. My main question is about whether or not the 2014 model has two different shades of white. On my bike, the top third of the gas tank appears to be a different shade of white.

I don’t know. Steve says it’s one color and I am inclined to agree but honestly I don’t know for sure.

I have seen a couple of these and the white was all one shade. I doubt there were different versions.

The center part of my fuel tank ( not the panels ) was a slightly off white to which I blamed on fade. It annoyed me also but then I went and bought a Bibb and that was the end of it ( out of sight, out of mind ).

Doing internet searches, I have found a few pictures showing the tank of the white models. Some of them also show the center part of the fuel tank being slightly more off-white like mine and yours. The thing that gives me some doubt about it fading is the fact that the "fading" follows the lines of that one panel perfectly.

You may have a point. It is quite possible that it was deliberately a slightly different white.

Once again, any quality automotive paint supply shop, will have a digital scanner that they can use to perfectly color match the paint.

Any automotive paint shop can look up any manufacturers paint colors. My father ran an auto machine shop that was part of a giant auto parts store. I worked there in my teen years. They also had a DuPont paint shop. If the paint shop guy is experienced, they’ll never miss a match.
Just tell them MG Diamond White, or the make and year of the bike and the colors will come up.
You don’t want your side cases to match the top of the tank anyway, if it is indeed different.

Sorry, all incorrect when it comes to Guzzi.

The website touchupdirect.com sells auto and motorcycle touch up paints.
They list MG models with color names.
For the 2014 Touring they say it’s Eldorado White Pearl Tricoat.
There’s also a black called “Guzzi Black”

I’m not saying they’re accurate, just posting the website info.
There’s also a “Contact Us” option for paint questions.
