First I would like to thank all of you for inspiring me and giving me ideas to modify my 2014 V7 Stone. My background - I have been a long time lover of all two wheeled rides; last year I put around 5000 miles on my road bicycle and over 3000 miles on my Guzzi. I ride the Guzzi mostly as a commuter but since I live in Denver I get out in the canyons as often as I can. I ride the same mountain rides on my motorcycle and bicycle.

This review is a bit delayed because we have had torrential rains this spring and I wanted to get at least 500 miles both in town and in the canyons to get a more accurate assessment of my mods. Most of these items were purchased here, from Todd and installed by me. Keep in mind that I am an expert bicycle mechanic but am new to working on combustion engines and electronics and, though I had minor mishaps, it fired up and ran on the first try.

Here is what I did to my Guzzi over the winter.

1) Installed GT-Rx SS Reverse Cone megs – high. These are half the weight of the OG cans and have a great tone with a fair amount of attitude. Sound and performance improvement. Well done, Todd.

2) Maris fork kit and V7 emulsion shocks. I hated the OG shocks. I am 6 feet, 185-190 lbs and the old shocks would nearly bottom out when I simply sat on the seat. Now I have a nice amount of shock absorption and can ride in comfort longer. Braking has also improved.

3) GT Rx ECU reflash. This baby was a challenge to remove and re-install but worth every drop of sweat and every cuss word that left my mouth. My Guzzi now fires right up, has a more even acceleration and responds like I thought it should have out of the box. It is comfortable in the 5000-6000 RPM range.

4) Metal fuel filter and BMC air filter. I had the tank off so I tackled the fuel filter. How the hell they pack all that in the tank is beyond me. Again, like the ECU, it was a bit of a pain but not too bad.

5) Sato Rearsets. More comfortable and very cool looking.

6) GT V7 fender eliminator and LED brake light. I like the clean look.

7) Solo Seat. Seems more comfortable and my wife has no interest in riding on the back so solo it is.

8) Renthro bars and 1200 mirrors

The difference in the bike from the bike I rode off the lot is like night and day. What was a kinda slow uncomfortable ride is now an able canyon cruiser and fun commuter. I am having a great time and feel that my money was well spent…Thanks Todd. Guzzi 2 Guzzi 1

Nice Beldar, the bike suits you. I will be looking into doing some of your up grades on the V7 racer, have the Mupo front fork kit to install…no hurry its winter over here in the Southern Hemisphere.
Need to check what sort of fuel filter I have in the tank, change the air filter…and will see on the ECU re flash.

Your bike is the bomb…go ride it.

Excellent work Beldar. Your mods suit my tastes to a t! I can imagine you enjoying the hell out of your machine.
Travell well.

I'll say it again. The re-map for my bike is really well done. The motor positively SINGS at all rpm. Over 4500 is a true delight.
