Just got it firing!

I recently purchased a new 2022 V7 850 Special and so far have logged 217 miles. Enjoying it greatly and looking forward to future rides around Southern California.
A priority for me is good wind protection, and I probably would not have purchased the V7 if I didn't see that Madstad offered a windshield for it. So after getting the V7 I immediately ordered the Madstad. Unfortunately, I wasn't all that happy with the mounting brackets, solidity and appearance, so I returned it. Nothing against Madstad, their product is great and customer service is top-notch, it just wasn't for me.
So I considered the Givi A31 windshield, but after reading a post from another owner I saw that they had installed a National Cycle Street Shield EX. I have owned National Cycle products in the past and had good experiences with them, so even though National Cycle doesn't list the V7 as being applicable for this particular windshield I decided to take a chance and order it.
Installation took about 2-3 hours, mostly because I am a perfectionist on fit and alignment, because with the windshield hardware there are infinite ways to adjust it. But the good news is that it was a perfect fit when adjusted, and extremely solid with it's 4-point mounting. The top mounts are on the handlebar, and the bottom mounts are in the space between the top triple clamp and headlight bracket. No wires or cables are affected in any way, it truly is a very good fit and I let National Cycle know they should include the V7 in their fitment list.
A test ride found very good wind protection (not perfect, as it's not a Gold Wing), with the wind going about 3 inches over my head (I am 5' 10"). Just for fun I tried a Puig Windshield Extender, but it didn't make any difference because the windshield height alone was enough to push the air over my head.
Anyway, just sharing this for anyone looking for a windshield solution for the 2021- V7 850. My guess is that it will also fit Stone's of this year because the headlight bracket is the same, the only difference from what I can tell is the single vs. double speedo-tach.
The National Cycle part number is N2567-01.
