I am seeking help with buying 2 oil line fittings for a 78 Convert which screw into the two ports on the ATF oil cooler. A picture of the fitting is attached. I have contacted a couple of the parts houses and they said the part was originally attached to the oil line but has been discontinued. I can buy the line too if available. New or used. Does anyone have advice on this.

Thank you,
John

Try a shop that repairs equipment hydraulics. Such as a John Deere or Kubota dealer or independent auto pars store that does this type of work. It is probably a standard metric thread.

Take the oil cooler with you to a John Deere or Kubota dealer that repairs hydraulics. Perhaps even an auto parts store that fixes hydraulic lines. Should be a standard metric thread.

Perfect advice.....the hydraulic shop was able to recover and repair them. Also, they recommended not using any sealant when screwing them into the oil cooler.....is that accurate or is sealant or teflon tape needed to prevent leaks? thank you.

I agree with the shop on using no sealant. Just make sure the mating/sealing surfaces are clean and scratch free.

I cleaned all mating services/threads for the lines with acetone and break fluid, let dry,and hooked the lines to the radiator. Just a small minor but annoying leak from the bolt on the right side.....the threads look clean but they are old too and probably nicked a little. Should I live with it or possibly use a permatex thread blocker? I am hesitant to tighten much more because the metal on the cooler appears weak. All advice appreciated.

I'd try something like this. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/ezturnlube.php?clickkey=218206 It is not cheap, but it works very well. Also it is non hardening and should not clog any oil passages.
