Can someone connect me to a schematic rendition of the 8 valve cam actuation?..My technician was trying to explain to me that my Stelvio has "pushrods"....either he's pulling my leg( I'm pretty gullible), or, is there in fact, in this overhead cam system, a piece that could be termed even loosely, a pushrod?

Your engine does indeed have pushrods, little short ones about 30mm long that sit inside the lifters. And your engine isnt an "overhead cam" engine at all.It is more correctly a "high cam" engine. There is a major difference.
Ciao

Behold! Idle-Bickel pushrods.

Should be installed with the 'Ring' end upwards although I can.t see any reason why it would make a huge difference? The ends seem the same size and the 'ball' and 'shaft' Don't foul the rocker.

...Likewise, Pete I thought the same, but my technician AND Guzzi regional agree that in fact one of them was indeed 'upside-down'....and that this fact contributed to the follower to be in much worse shape than the other....(though both were bad.......I wasn't aware that the layout is a 'high-cam' and not overhead cam....thank god for warranty....they're going to replace all affected parts on this(left) bank, button it up, and then go into the right bank, which is also making noise,(not as much), and investigate the right side also....at my expense, unless there is damage, in which case Guzzi picks up the tab....whew!...I didn't know how much I was going to miss this Stelvio until I didn't have it for a month...thanks again for your interest and clarity regarding this ......I LOVE MY STELVIO!......gdp

If by follower wear you mean on the face of the follower where it runs on the cam then I dont see how the pushrod being upside down would have an effect.
Due to the silly cost of replacement followers for my Centauro engine I'm seriously considering machining up my own followers and having them ground and plasmanitrided and using this system with 8valve pushrods.Makes the manufacture of the followers very easy on the lathe because they are simply hollow and the pushrod sits in the bottom but I will need to get the rocker arms machined to suit and plasmanitrided as well.
