Can anyone explain why the ABS light will sometimes come on as a solid light upon key-on, which then means the ABS light will stay on for the duration of the ride? It has happened fairly regularly, and only in the afternoon, so I am wondering if it is related to the temperature somehow. It never happens when I turn on the ignition in the morning (when the bike and ambient temps are cool), where the ABS light flashes upon key-on and then after the bike rolls for a few feet, the light turns off completely.
 
Possibly a sensor isn't reading correctly with the high temperature. Hopefully it isn't an issue with the ABS controller. I'm not sure which wheel the speedometer gets data from, but it could be the other wheel sensor that has a temperature issue.
 
Sounds like a bad connection to me.

I suggest you try unplugging the dashboard, and clean the connections. Even unplugging and replugging a few times might help.
