Tuned and Synch'ed
Well. It just happened. A friend of mine told me he bought ten bucks worth of red LED light strips off the internet and was coming over to install them. He's an electrical guru and I've seen his work on his ST1300. He's set up another buddy with an Sprint GT.
I never thought I'd like these lights so much! Tonight I rode to our bike night coffee shop and got a chance to show them off. I had another buddy take these shots.
Installation was sort of tricky. The rear fender mesh lights were secured to the sub frame. The right front was attached to the thick wiring harness. The left front required bonding the LED strip to the underside of the frame. These locations allowed us to aim the lights downward. They also make it possible to remove the side panels and fuel tank without ripping the lights out.
We tapped into a tail light wire just battery side from the last connector that sends power in On and Park positions. So they are always on. My friend says that it draws about 1 amp including the marker headlight.
