I just did my first oil change on my V7II @ 3k mi. ,Dealer did 600mi. service . I noticed the manual calls for air filter changes @ 6kmi. I thought that a bit soon till I checked the AF housing , yikes! There's an oil pool in the AF housing ,the drains @ the front bottom don't appear to have more than a drop or two in the clear caps. I looked in the workshop manual &the breather section appears to be separate from the air intake part of the housing. Oil consumption has been minimal 4oz. in 2400 mi. Most or that looks like it ended up in the intake part of the AF housing. A cyl. Leak down test shows about 15% leakage on each side (past the rings) so they aren't seated yet , and I don't expect them to be @this milage. My concern is will this condition improve (less oil in air box),or is there a passage between the housing section I failed to notice ? One again thanxs in advance for well thought out reply

This has been extremely well covered here... please spend some time with the search feature. You are overfull, despite what you or the dealer think. The motor holds 1.6L max. The engine breathes from the valve covers through an assembly on the front of the air box. Oil to the intake tract/Throttle Body/ECU is very bad. See the MIU ECU download for more info.
