Is it worth the extra bucks or just keep to the stock filter?

If your looking for a performance gain by only changing the air filter then no don't do it unless you free up the exhaust. Other wise your going to lean the bike out and actually hurt performance. I put one on my Norge a couple of weeks before my Staintune can came in and that was a mistake, If it wasn't such a pain to change on the Norge I would have taken it out until I got the exhaust on.

My V7C will not be getting one as I like the exhaust note and performance just fine on it.

I have to disagree with drait. I put one in my B11 and it performs well. I did enrichen the trim a little, but she revs and pulls much better. As soon as I have the liquid funds I will be replacing the exhaust to see just how good she can be.

Would replacing the CAT with a Y Pipe or Crossover and keeping the original silencer be categorized as freeing up the exhaust?

Can the trim be adjusted with a VDSTS Standard? I remember some disagreement on this topic, but I can't remember the conclusion. My VDSTS is on the way from Todd. Should be here soon. Thanks.

If you keep it in the stock, unmodified box, either element is status quo. There is a ton of flow data online to show this. In addition: both the dyno & air/fuel data prove the same, and use the same Power Commander map(s).

Todd,

I have a Mistral pipe on the Norge, so if I add the K&N and modify the air box will there be a boost in power? I know were talking chump change power but is it worth the effort? By the way, what is the status of the Power Commander?
