Not long ago I picked up a brand new NTX rear rim with tire but have not needed to install it until now. When I pulled the wheel and tire out this morning it was basically flat so I pumped it up to 42 psi. About 6 hours later I checked and it was down to 25 psi. A bit of soapy water showed that the slow leak is at the one of the spokes. That spoke is tight (some others do not 'ping' as tight). The rim is clearly new, never dented. Obviously I'll have to dismount the tire but after that, what? One quick and dirty solution is a dab of silicone on the inside of the offending spoke. What do the experts here recommend? Lucky for me I have a new tire mounted on my other rim so there is time to do the repair correctly.
