Hi everyone, yesterday during some works on my '06 griso 1100, i noticed an hole on the bottom of the airbox, just next the rear footpeg.
There's a hose clamp with a residual rubber tube or plug, i don't understand.

the hole is this:

on service manual i cant found anything.
What i've to place here? i dont think leaving it disconnected is a good thing.
Thank you!

That is for an oil drain line. Find a length of clear tubing and run it down low. Then put the rubber plug in the end of the tube. You may need to find an additional spring clamp to attache the tube at the airbox. That line is there so that when you see any oil in the clear tube, you can remove the plug and drain the oil.

John is right. The Griso is breathing into the airbox from the crankcase breather/oil separator, through a breather hose attached to the right front of the airbox. That mist is usually drawn into the intake manifold (emission stuff) to be burned by the engine. Most of this oil mist ends up in the forward end of the airbox. I check mine yearly and clean it out, through the plate under the battery, held by 4 screws. Since I have never seen oil in this aft drain, I have capped it off . If you chase the "full" mark on your dip stick, you may end up with some oil in this aft area of the box. If left open, it may draw some un-filtered air into the intake.
