Alternator bust!

Re Cams failure

Cheers Ray.Hope you have your s back by now?

I didn't pick mine up yet as after they put it back together there was one pot where the bottom gasket had an oil leak!
Then they didn't have the gasket and that took another 8 days plus then taking off the pot again and re-building. It was finally ready to collect last Tuesday week but I was on Easter holidays so told them to keep it until my return. Picking it up today or Monday. Don't know the cost but am expecting a hefty labour bill!

I will let the forum know the outcome of what they have done once I pick it up.

Picked her up on Saturday last and ticks over nice and quiet as it should!

Haven't seen invoice yet as collected bike after shop shut with spare key. However the bill was £375.00 which to be fair I don't feel is too bad. Had a couple of other jobs done such as front puncture repair (air leak from spoke?) or new tube plus new hose to top of head.

When I get the invoice I will be able to comment further.

Fitting the black ally panniers today/tomorrow in time for the Taffy Dakar in Brecon Beacons National Park Wales this weekend. Its an orienteering event off and on/or just road! Susie and I are looking forward to it. Our team is known as the Somerset Stelvios! :D

If anyone is interested from UK/Europe then 8 riders places left.

For more info see here;- http://www.taffydakar.org.uk/news/
cheers
