Guy almost t boned me tonight. Slid out onto right side. Minimal damage. The place where the rear brake mounts snapped off. Scuffed top of right jug. So looking for those parts? Anyone know what they cost new? Should I try JB weld.

JB weld isn't going to fix that.

Time to look in the parts book and head to a dealer with a number. I doubt it will be cheap.
 
That is the whole right side plate that holds up the engine, subframe, foot pegs, etc...correct? The 1100 griso shows the following in the parts book:
6 RH plate - - - T1 06443700 1
RH plate - - - T2 MG977052 1

Looking on an italian web site with a euro to USD conversion...$250 The labor to install it will be more.

You could weld it, but I still wouldn't trust it as it is the BRAKE support. This will snap off at the absolute worst time.
 
But on the other hand we're only talking the rear brake here - surely not life threatening to lose that. I'd weld.

Who is paying for the repair?
If it is the car driver buy a new part.
If it is you I would have a talk with someone who has expetise in welding this material, you may find it may not be viable to get a good result and or the cost may be prohibitive.
I wouldn't get my backyard mate who welds once a year to do it as if it is not done correctly it could cause a problem with the structural integrity of the part which would affect more than the brake mount. It might also look crap.
It is worth exploring the welding option but make sure you speak to the right people, worst case scenario is you will have to buy a new part.

Phoned my dealer and got the part and rear brake plunger for $236. Not great but it could have been worse. Hopefully it is not in Italy. Any one have directions on how to take off the foot pegs? And what the rear brake set up looks like. I'm pretty sure I could remove and put the plate back on but not sure about those two parts.

If that is the total parts cost it isn't worth stuffing around repairing the part.

You should get enough info to make the job pretty straight forward, the process will be fairly obvious when you have a closer look.
 
Yeah I ordered the part. paying myself since deductible is too high and the car that pulled in front just kept on going. That was probably good for him since I would have run over and torn his mirrors off. I was raging a bit. Soon as i hit the ground I was on my feet, yelling WTF. Picked up the bike with one hand and right leg. Next day I was feeling a bit sore. Anyways i looked through the online manual and removing and putting back on that plate is straightforward but there are no good pictures of how the rear brake assembly goes together or how to remove foot peg. If any one wants to snap a shot of the brake assembly from underneath the bike it'd be much appreciated. Same with a pointer of where to find instructions on removing foot peg. Do you use some sort of tap to push out the bolt thingy? ;)
 
Circlip in grove in cotter pin holds the pedal pivot in place. Remove circlip biff out pin, take out peg and spring???? Sorry but it is so obvious I suggest that if this is challenging? for your own safety, take it to a shop.
