Any maintenance items for driveshaft on V7R?

Hi, I'm wondering if there are regular maintenance items in regards to the V7 drivetrain. I own a BMW K-bike and it requires regular driveshaft and final drive spline inspection; and lubrication to prevent spline wear. Is there a similar inspection check for the V7 Racer? I've read the maintenance manual for the Classic and no indication of such there. Thanks.

Not called for in the manuals, but it doesn't hurt to use some synthetic grease on the drive shaft splines in the swing arm just to prevent any oxidation. I like using Amsoil synthetic. Do it once early in life, then you should be good for 50K miles or more.

OK, great. So, I'm assuming from your response that there's no call for a high-content moly grease like Honda Moly 60 ... but doesn't hurt. The BMW splines need high content moly to ensure the grease is not displaced under pressure and loss of lubrication properties results.

The Guzzi splines are really tough. If you prevent rust, they don't wear. The Amsoil synthetic https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/glc.aspx is really good for this application. I've been using this for old style rear wheel splines, drive shafts (Guzzi and BMW) and even for BMW clutch splines. The stuff sticks well and lasts a very long time.
