Any Tricks on Changing a Shock?

I was about to install my Ohlins shock and decided it was beyond my abilities ( I have very little patients ). The top bolt of the shock faces to the right and is impossible to get to.

Of course, the back of the bolt is easily seen from the left. If Guzzi would have reversed the bolt this would have been much easier. I had the rear of the bike taken apart just to find out I had to remove the airbox, I wasn't going to go through that BS, with limited time. Rant Over

So if anyone out there can give me a little insight on how to do this job I would greatly appreciate it.
 
two ways on the service stand, and remove the airbox or

chock front wheel Remove the left hand shifter panel, and it comes out easily oh by the way you hang the rear of the bike with the front end fixed by ratchet straps from the joist of a garage or the like. That top bolt I did not have an issue getting to with a box end wrench, (re-torqued with a crowfoot) block up the swing arm it is heavy

Just a note though, the shock fit is really close to the swing arm!!!! and if ya got a really beefy spring +800lb you may have some real fun getting it to fit. 84mm was the largest od spring I could get to fit in the hole on a shock on both my griso and stelvio. I did wind up finding a suitable fit in a heavy spring off a wing
