Returning to the fold have a question to anyone that can help. Got my wife a 04 stone and it’s just a little too tall, anyone know a way to lower it 1, ideally 2, inches? Different shocks? Modify the shocks? Some type of new mounting point? Anything?
Also don’t worry that terrible windshield is gone, she dropped the bike in the garage and that broke, think it saved it from more damage but I’d really like to get this thing lowered slightly, otherwise second option, this is my bike and I get her a V7, but then that seat height is listed an inch taller!!!

I used to have an account here, can’t remember it, had a V11 sport for a long time and a griso for less time

Her feet are flatter then mine on my v7.

Well she is leaning pretty far to one side, she can just barely balance it on the balls of her feet, even 1 in lower would help a ton

Yes they can be lowered with a shorter shock. Whatever amount the rear is lowered, raise the fork tubes to have the same amount lowered at the front to maintain steering geometry. Also with shorter shocks it would be a good idea to re-route the wires to the tail light assembly to prevent the back wheel from ever making contact and damaging the wires. Using a center stand will become very difficult unless you put the bike on a board first, or if necessary just remove the stand and use a motorcycle jack for servicing. The side stand may still function well, the bike just won't lean as much so she will need to be careful when parking. Todd can probably get the shocks you need, use the contact button available at the Store tab.

I have my forks dropped an inch on my 2000 Jackal. You could go to a slightly lower profile tire and also change or cut down the seat a bit.
All less expensive than new shocks. I prefer the handling with the dropped forks. IMG 0817
