About 2 months ago, I discovered some books by Neil Peart, the drummer from Rush, about his travels by moto, bicycle, and sports car. The first one I read - "Ghost Rider: The Healing Road...." is about the moto trips he took on his Beemer after his only child was killed in a car accident, and his wife died of cancer 11 months later. Yes, the book is very sad at times, but some damn good writing about the satisfaction of riding, etc, I thought.... Now I'm reading "Traveling Music: The Soundtrack of My Life and Times..." It's not just about a road trip in his BMW Z8, but some great stuff about music and travel, etc. He's really an enjoyable read, imho. Just wanted to pass it on...
Happy Holidays, all!!

Yes J, I read "Ghost Rider" also. You failed to mention that his dog died as well. "Oh no! Not the dog!" Actually I read the book during a most difficult time for me and I found it to be of some help.

Bright lad isn't he?

Sometimes he is spotted in Santa Monica. I think I saw him in front of the Gotham Hall one day on the promenade but I can't be sure. When I looked again a few minutes later he was gone. Bad drugs? Who knows.

And his best friend/ride navigator ended up in prison..... (That's my new dream job - being Neil Peart's road tour ride navigator.... I'd probably pay him. Come to think of it, if you see him again, tell him to call me.)
Just finished "Traveling Music" - very good also, not as sad. Yes, quite an individual.
(Btw, B, next time you see Safety Bob, ask him how Daytongate turned out... It's hilarious. And tell him to fork over that bottle of single-malt he owes me.... and an unopened one, not an empty one, need I add?)
