Anything to look into after abusing it? 2007 Griso 1100

Just did the BRP on the Guzzi, all total a nearly 1300 mile round trip (3.5 days) with about 400 really aggressive miles down the parkway and 3 torrential downpours. Bike ticked over 10k miles coming back.

The bike did great other than some valve cover gasket leaking and a bit of a right side rattle after about 900 miles into the trip. Oil never got below halfway mark and no lights came on.

I'm waiting on new gaskets and will do a valve adjustment but is there anything else I should specifically look into doing as part of a post-ride clean-up or maintenance? I'm familiar with the idiosyncrasies of the MV but was wondering if there is anything I should be doing to compensate for the rough ride or water as a regular measure or something I should inspect to prevent further issues.

No mods other than a Mistral exhaust, wiring loom hasnt been opened to my knowledge.

Thanks

Good to hear. I did all of the fluids prior and did the valves a couple of thousand miles ago. I was planning on re-checking them when I replaced the leaky gasket.

Something I did recently to my 07 Griso (35,000 mi) was to regrease the head bearings. When I disassembled the head there was enough grease on the bearings but it was that brown color that old grease has.

I cleaned all the bearing surfaces with solvent, spread a lot of grease around packing it into the ball bearings and buttoned the Griso back up.

Man what a difference! Now the Griso really turns in easily. I've always steered more with my knees and weight shift than with the bars so this is a real plus.

The main cost is the tools -- a 14 mm hex for the triple clamp cover, a king nut socket for the headset bolt, a disposable "locating" tabbed washer for the headset lock nut and grease.
