Does anyone know if the 2012 NTX has a bank angle sensor. The service manual lists it as optional.

Bike took a bit of a dirt nap on my last trip and the bike kept running (no damage, just my ego). It was tipped right over and actually past horizontal as it was on the side of the road.

So...it is either there and not working, or not installed on this model......anyone have any insight on this.........

I'd say no. When I got whacked, somebody had to go and shut mine off. Didn't leak a drop, tho.

Confirmed it tonight. There is no bank sensor on my bike. The connector is there but capped off. Manual lists it as an option. Maybe it was causing to many problems. Of all bikes that needed one you would think one that is capable of some off road riding would have one....leave it to Guzzi

Who cares. I'm glad it isn't there.
Honda has used them on some bikes and they can be a problem. Nothing like having the motor shut down for a few seconds mid corners. They had a few recalls to modify them, but I still don't trust them.

can confirm with experience no such thing installed. went down on a sandy trail bike still running while I'm trying to untangle myself from the sage brush. after manually shutting down engine had to move fast and pick bike up smelled like the brush was on fire.

 Now, there's a scenario. If it was me, in my decrepit state of physical age, I would not be able to get the bike back up without help and, if alone, I can just picture the bush sparking up and the whole damn thing going up in flames. Explain THAT to the insurance adjusters!
