its all griso griso griso here...

well, the Bellagio has a 'new' engine too, doesn't it? 66 mm stroke of the Breva 850 with the 95mm bore of the Norge 1200 to produce 935cc and twin plugged B)

I've ridden one on a short test a while back and was v. impressed.

How are they going out in the real world? Any issues, niggling or otherwise? Are they selling in the US?

Perhaps Todd could add a "Middle Block" Forum here? :woohoo:

I still haven't seen a single Bellagio on the road here in UK. My dealers got one in stock, did the PDI and rode it. They were very impressed with a nice revvy engine giving lively performance so prepared themselves for selling loads.......but since then that one bike is still sitting in their showroom with hardly any interest from customers. But they do say they have heard that at other dealerships elsewhere they are selling better.
I've heard from other Guzzisti that the "problem" with the Bellagio is that that lovely revvy engine makes it hard work for touring and isn't what people want in a cruiser style bike. Maybe they'd have been better off sticking that engine in a different type bike......put the Bellagio motor in the Griso 850 chassis?

The Bellagio is not available in the U.S. unfortunately. I'd love to ride one as the motor sounds right up my alley, and yes, dropping the motor in the Griso frame would be a wise thing.

I've got one customer who has one and it's a lovely little thing. Enormous fun!!!! They should be selling like hot cakes. The motor isn't *that* lackin in torque but it revs like a bastard. The weirdest thing is the choice by Guzzi to remain with the 15M computer and the wierd-harold Cali throttle linkage, I mean 'WHY'????? Ths single adjustable drag-link system used one the V11 and the newer bikes is just so much easier?????

Pete

They're doing fine here around Paris, and in the Netherland too, IIRC. Appreciated as relatively light and flickable bikes.

Mind you, doing fine means that I've seen one maybe twice in the wild. Which is still more often than I see Norges (not counting mine and Guzzi-meets). :$

Not available in the US??
I know peeps don't buy a Harley Davidson for the handling, though I would think a lot of yanks would go for a cruiser that was a little out of the ordinary, mono shock, shaft drive and DOES handle...

Don't know about the throttle linkages, nor the 15M computer? - but you're dead right about the fun aspect Pete

dry weight is 224 kg so they are not that light (I wonder what those cans weigh?), yet handle quite nimbly was my firm impression. I deliberately twisted the throttle at low revs/high gear and still found plenty of immediate get up and go.

Anyhow I'd appreciate hearing any more about them - I've got a tax bill to sort b4 I can grab one

Saw one painted in the italian colours recently, it looked pretty good.

My wife has had a bellagio for a few months now. I rode one (not hers) for half a day and can report it is a fantastic bike - it is quite sporty and handles very well. My wife reports its comfortable all day - she wanted a tourer after all - and has bags of go when needed. Its a seriously underestimated bike IMHO but expect eventually that the penny will drop at least with the guzzi gang that they are missing something! I will consider buying one myself in a few years.

So you don't really notice the fact it (allegedly) runs on tubed tyres?

Well, that's good news. I'd always heard she's got tubed tyres!

I've only heard good feedback from those who have ridden a Bellagio. Trouble is in the UK it was way overpriced so has been a sales flop with a £7k asking price, £2k more than an 883 Sportster. You can argue that the Guzzi is a much faster and better handling bike but that is not the main concern of many cruiser buyers.

I think the latest two tone version looks better for some reason than the original.
