Best reason to NOT remove Tip Over Switch

Let me set the scene - Sunday 15th of May, 8.20 AM
Stopped at traffic lights at Berowra Waters Rd turning south on to Pacific Hwy. (Sydney)
Running late for an appointment?
Lights change to green so I gun it and promptly low side as the back lets go half way through the intersection, find my self sitting on my arse with my pride and joy lying next to me in front of about 7 or 8 guys on sports bikes stopped at the lights.
Cold tyre, cold but dry road probably a bit slick because of the high traffic flow, lack of brain function, well that explains the cause.

Negatives:
Bruised knee and small tear in jacket sleeve (both repairable), Massive bruising to my ego (I'll get over it), Bent brake pedal, Minor area ground from surface of right valve cover and also oil cooler housing and a couple of tiny scratches.

Positives: Got help from sports bike guys who came to my aid and they didn't even piss themselves laughing, at least not while I was there (thanks guys), Bike fine to ride after ducking home (200mts away) to bend the brake pedal straight (even though it slid for 3 or 4 metres on its side), Another lesson in life learnt.

I really didn't want to find out my Griso would survive a low speed crash with minimal damage but now I know.
Most Important part:
The Tip Over Switch worked perfectly by shutting the engine down as I hit the deck therefore preventing any internal engine damage due a to still running engine being starved of oil pressure.
Most annoying part:
Still made it to the bloody appointment on time.

:D Glad to hear that all is OK. Just one question, why would anybody want to remove such a useful component? Does it give any problems?

The switch usually doesn't. on the Tonti, Spine, and some small blocks there is a tip over valve in the vent line to the fuel tank that can. It can cause the tank to develop a vacuum. Those valves are best removed.
