Decided the tank needed striping, so added the side panel stripes. I got them a bit crooked, so will probably try it again later. I've been pondering something to offset the large blue space, and the older models with stripes look so good.

I mean no disrespect and I admire your willingness to experiment but in my eyes it just doesn't work. It looks like a patch that fell from the sky and landed on the tank, it destroys the sculptured lines of the tank. It's you bike and your eyes may see it differently, that's OK.

I rather like the idea, but I agree that they're not on at the correct angle. Are those stripes available over-the-counter or did you find some suitable material and cut your own? I've considered doing the same and also adding some finer versions down the centre of the front mudguard.

Got them from AF1, original parts. They would look better if they continued down the tank behind the eagle. The more I look at them the crookeder they get.

I like the concept, but ...

It doesn't work with the center-line graphics already on the tank; it gets too busy looking in my opinion as well as looks somewhat incomplete because it's too short. Look at photos of the Moto Guzzi 1000S... To my eye, you want to echo that kind of treatment.

The standard tank treatment on your bike is really very nice. I don't know that I'd want to change it.
