Dears,

did try to search here and on other guzzi forums, but no dedicated and full topic found. Can anyone please describe the steb-by-step procedure for the brake-fluid change in the ABS-equipped 1200 Sport MG? or at least, what to pay attention to because of ABS?

Having had an ABS-ed BMW earlier I remember it required dismounting half of the bike..
Thanks a lot in advance!
Alex

not a single hint... if I do it, and do wrong, and kill myself, I'll post you from hell about the mistake I made :)
guys, please, don't let it happen, my 2 daughters will not get the gag
my closest MG service is thousands km away, and I hope to not have to go to BMW for brake fluid change, and make them feel wrong (you know what I mean, when I show 12S to a BMW addict he always tries to find BMW parts on my 12S to justify the fact that the 12S is a gorgeous bike a beemer will never get close to)
help please, there are only 2-3 weekends left till it melts, and I wanna break :) .... free???

Download the Norge service manual from this site (downloads). The section on the braking system does not give any special procedure to "purge" the braking system unlike the BMW system. I would then presume the method used is the same as any non ABS system. Just be really careful not to allow any air to get into the system.

Well, did it work?

I am about to try this, too.

Bill,

I thought Wayne took all your tools away. Less problems for him that way.

You know, John, good thing I am an insensitive lout as otherwise that would make me cry.

Seriously, I can actually change my own oil, adjust the valves, and do one or two very minor things on the Guzzis, but that's about it ... but it is a good thing to know one's limits. Every time I remove the tupperware on the Norge to do something I probably did not need to do, I always have a few fasteners left over. I claim spontaneous and sympathetic generation, as nothing has fallen off ... but ... :woohoo:

I am going to try the brake-fluid swap, tho, so pray for me.
