I had my left side switch gear changed today after nearly 5 months wait! Thats another storey. Anyway, I had thought that this problem was leading to the red triangle / SERVICe being shown. As the switch gear was knackered and was not able to access the diagnosis until today. New switchgear same issues.
Diagnosis says 07 and 02. Deleted erros and 02 disappeared but 07 remains. This is the oil pressure sensor me thinks. This was replaced several months ago (at the start of my electirc problems.
I've been riding the breva since all this shit started so I've done sevaral thousand miles and it all appears to works fine other than horrid red triangle/SERVICE constantly on. I'm off to italy on it in 2 weeks and it looks like I'll have to put up with it again.
Has anyone else had repeat failures of this sensor? Why does it keep happening?
thanks :(

Yanto,

02 is the immobilizer, and yes 07 is the oil sensor fault. It is not uncommon to get bad sensors. Even if it is one that has just been put in. Change it gain and good luck. But first, you may want to make sure you have a good connection at the sensor.

Is the sensor located just under the tank, left side (sat on bike) at the front? Do I just undo the sensor give a clean?

Yes to both. From the cam position sensor, it sits behind and higher. See page 48, or tab 44 of the parts manual.

Found it to be a pig to replace. Others apparently have had success coming from above with a socket and extension, but I found the alternator wouldn't allow this.

Had to remove the LH header pipe, and then a breather assembly before I could gain side access to the sensor. Then a 21mm ring spanner made easy work of the removal. Screwing the new one in wasn't easy, a bit of a hit and miss affair due to the limited access.

Allow plenty of time, and test the new unit before installation. Good luck!

Hi Yanto,

I was unable to fix this in the UK but I took the bike to a guy in Italy and it replaced the sensor with a different model from a FIAT.

I can investigate which exactly was the sensor to change.

The SERVICE doesn't appear anymore...one issue less.

I'd be keen to learn of the Fiat replacement, which Fiat it comes from or a part number. I'm sick of replacing these switches on my Guzzis. My Breva one has just failed again, only 16 months old.
