Breva 1100 Lambda exhaust sensor trouble/testing

Can anyone tell me how to test my exhaust sensor, my diagnostic machine is giving crazy and erratic readings in that department, I don't want to buy another sensor to find that the problem is not in the there.

The bike is running sweetly but using a bit more fuel that perhaps it should, I understand that if the sensor is faulty and giving readings out side the acceptable parameters the CPU will ignore it and go to a default setting which will probably run the bike a little rich.

Any knowledge out there. Thanks jim.
 
The two black wires are for the heater circuit. Those should have continuity. If you remove the sensor and heat it with a torch, the other two wires will show a generated voltage. It could be that your diagnostic software is working correctly. You should see the voltage changing rapidly while the bike is running. Usually though about every 3 to 4 seconds seems to be the norm.
